The individual will support our core accounting operations and financial reporting over AWS revenue, globally. This role will collaborate with business and finance partners within the AWS organization to support new initiatives and launches and ensure appropriate controllership of processes, from end-to-end. Key job responsibilities
This position will have responsibility for:
• Leading delivery of various aspects of our accounting and reporting process for AWS revenue.
• Collaborating with finance and business partners to oversee end-to-end processes.
• Designing and implementing internal controls for emerging and growing business initiatives.
• Maintaining effective control operation over key processes
• Executing judgments to keep projects moving and ensure the right decisions are reached to close the books each month.
• Escalating risks and issues as necessary to leadership.
• Identifying process improvement and automation opportunities to streamline our work and enhance controllership.
• Working collaboratively with Finance, Business and IT teams to launch programs without tech debt
• Researching, concluding and memorializing technical accounting position papers.
- 5+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field- CPA
- Knowledge of internal control framework (specifically COSO) to assess control design and operational efficiency
- Knowledge of GAAP research tools and the FASB codification
- Experience in accounting management in Big Four with Fortune 500 clients
- Experience researching and documenting support for accounting conclusions

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
