Please note that we are an in-office company, which means the expectation is that you would come in to your Applied Intuition office 5 days a week.

About the role

As a Workplace Operations Lead in Europe you’ll optimize the daily operations of our growing offices across Munich, Stockholm, and Stuttgart. This role will be the only Places employee in Europe and is critical in ensuring a safe, efficient, and inspiring work environment that fosters productivity and collaboration. 

This role is based in our modern Munich office and will report to the Head of Places in the United States with heavy influence with the Site Leads in each region. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is a self-starter, obsessed with operating offices, believes that no task is too small, is not afraid to get their hands dirty, and thrives working in an extremely fast-paced environment.

 

At Applied Intuition, you will:

  • Own all aspects of workplace operations across European offices.
  • Develop and implement workplace strategies that enhance employee experience and operational efficiency.
  • Regularly make proposals and recommendations to improve the offices based on experience and data. 
  • Ability to execute quickly on workplace decisions. 
  • Own facility management, including maintenance, security, cleaning services, and space utilization.
  • Own vendor relationships and negotiate contracts for office services and supplies.
  • Ensure compliance with local health, safety, and environmental regulations in all locations.
  • Help influence and disseminate global initiatives across European offices.
  • Collaborate with people operations and IT to support onboarding and workplace technology integration.
  • Plan and coordinate office moves, renovations, and expansions, as needed.
  • Manage workplace budgets, forecast expenses, and optimize cost efficiency.
  • Plan, budget, and execute employee events.  
  • Represent the European offices by providing updates regularly for global alignment. 
  • Lead emergency preparedness planning and response procedures.

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • 5+ years managing multiple sites in workplace operations or facilities management.
  • Ability to travel to other offices in Europe every quarter and to the US at least once a year.
  • Ability to move around the offices to fix and move things regularly.
  • Proven understanding of workplace best practices and operational efficiency.
  • Excellent project management, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets and vendor contracts effectively.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations across Europe.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Able to read and write in English and German, additional languages are plus
  • A love for building culture and enjoys injecting energy, creativity, and forward-thinking to the workplace

  • Startup experience
  • HR/People Operations experience
