About the Position

Qumulo is looking for an experienced, passionate, highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our growing Finance team. This position is ideal for a responsive individual who enjoys connecting with people and will form and maintain strong relationships throughout the organization. A successful candidate exhibits strong judgment and professionalism and thrives in a fast-paced environment. The individual must be able to manage competing demands and execute flawlessly. It is crucial that this person has an aptitude for process and systems optimization and has excellent communication and customer service skills with a strong attention to detail. The ideal candidate is one who feels empowered to innovate, take action, is customer driven, and is comfortable with ambiguity.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all cash entries and bank reconciliations for corporate headquarters and seven international subsidiaries
  • Manage monthly journal entries for seven foreign subsidiaries, including assistance with month end analytics 
  • Manage prepaids, including adjusting entries and post-close SaaS trend analysis 
  • Assist with the expense trend analysis during each month-end close 
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure accounting records are complete 
  • Analyze monthly budget versus actual department expense activity to ensure proper cut-off, classification and GL coding
  • Review contracts to ensure proper accounting treatment in accordance with GAAP
  • Support various state tax returns and filings
  • Participate in, and help lead, critical accounting projects, including the implementation of new accounting standards, development of management reports and implementation of a new modules and features within NetSuite
  • Support external audit requests, specific to areas of responsibility
  • Help to create and maintain accounting policies, procedures and process flow documentation
  • Assist other departments with various accounting needs and questions

Desired Skills and Experience

  • BA/BS in Accounting required
  • 2+ years of progressive accounting experience;
  • Public accounting experience is preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of US GAAP
  • Strong understanding of internal controls
  • Experience in the software industry preferred
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with various areas of an organization
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
  • Prioritize and solve problems with little supervision
  • Experience with NetSuite is a plus
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills
  • Well organized, ability to prioritize tasks and provide high-level of accuracy

Individual pay depends on various factors, such as role level, relevant experience and skills, and location. Pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the pay range applicable at the time.
