Job Description

We are looking for a Cloud SRE Engineer to be part of our team.

 

Main responsibilities

  • Oversee and improve platform performance and reliability as part of BAU support;
  • Develop and implement new tools, script and automation processes to streamline the Cloud Data Platform's functionality;
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support new feature enhancements and requirements;
  • Monitor platform infrastructure, proactively identify issue and ensure high availability;
  • Built and refine monitoring solutions for real-time insights and data visibility;
  • Troubleshoot incidents, drive root cause analysis and implement long-term fixes;
  • Apply best practices for CI/CD, ensuring efficient deployment processes.


Requirements

  • Degree in software engineering, computer science or related field;
  • Extensive experience (+3 years) in managing Kubernetes(EKS) clusters at scale, with hands-on experience in Kubernetes administration activities such as cluster provisioning, scaling, deployment automation, security, resource optimization, networking and load balancing;
  • Proven experience in managing MSK/Kafka clusters, including setup, configuration, monitoring and scaling with experitise in optimising performance, topics & partitions management and troubleshooting kafka-specific issues in a production environment;
  • Good experience in a NoSQL database such as AWS DynamoDB;
  • Deep experience (+3 years) in the main AWS services such as data storage (S3, DynamoDB, etc.), networking (VPC, Route 53), security (IAM, Secrets Manager, KMS) and operations (CloudWatch, Cloudtrail, AWS Config, System Manager, Cost Explorer);
  • Expertise in Terraform/CloudFormation to deploy infrastructure into AWS;
  • Expertise in Python and ShellScript;
  • Good understanding in AWS cost as well as the related services that allow you to estimate the cost of your architecture, monitor the actuals as well as being able to identify any risk or potential optimisation at architecture level;
  • Good understanding of CI/CD pipelines;
  • Good understanding of git-based VCS such us Github, Gitlab, etc.;
  • Passion to learn & explore new technologies, do research & experimentation as well as propose new ways of solving problems.

 

Nice-to-have

  • AWS certifications: Developer (Associate), Database (Speciality), DevOps;
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) or Certified Kubernetes Security specialist (CKAS);
  • Terraform Associate Certification;
  • ServiceNow (or similar ITSM toolset) for managing incidents, requests, and changes;
  • Dynatrace dashboard creation, configuration and have the ability to tune metrics;
  • JIRA/Confluence/Teams.
