The Opportunity 

The Senior Manager, Technical Accounting and External Reporting will play a critical role in managing and overseeing our financial operations. This includes ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the onboarding of acquisitions. This position requires a deep understanding of accounting principles and experience working in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities 

Technical Accounting

  • Provide technical accounting guidance and document conclusions on complex issues, including but not limited to debt, business combinations, consolidations, and leases.
  • Review new Accounting Standards Updates (ASUs) issued by the FASB and assist with their implementation as needed.
  • Update process documents and narratives for internal controls documentation.

External Reporting

  • Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements in accordance with GAAP, as well as management and lender reporting requirements.
  • Manage external auditors during the annual audit and statutory audits, addressing audit inquiries as they arise.
  • Perform other reporting tasks as assigned

Other Tasks

  • Assist with acquisition accounting, including drafting technical accounting conclusions, collaborating with valuation specialists, preparing opening entries, and developing post-transaction accounting workflows.
  • Complete ad hoc projects as assigned by the VP, Corporate Controller.

Candidate Expertise Required 

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.  
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, and internal controls. Experience with multi-entity and multi-currency accounting is a plus.
  • Ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders. 
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Willingness to adapt to new challenges and drive continuous improvement. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. CPA or equivalent certification required.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of accounting experience, with at least 4 years in technical accounting and financial reporting roles.
  • Experience in the SaaS industry is preferred. 
  • A combination of “Big Four” or public company experience is highly preferable. 
  • Experience in technical accounting and financial close and reporting.
  • Experience in managing external audits
