Overview:
This junior role will be under the Crude Oil trading desk and will work side by side with senior traders on a daily basis. At the start, the role will be providing supports to senior traders by conducting market analysis, backtesting strategies and carrying out operational tasks. Very quickly the role will be actively involved in the day-to-day trading of the desk, pricing and executing derivative transactions and ongoing risk management of positions. We are looking for individuals with strong quantitative skillsets, who are highly motivated to get hands on experience with trading.
Responsibilities:
• Learn proprietary methodologies and trading systems that support an established trading business
• Make quick, informed decisions in real-time to manage risk and optimize trade execution
• Build and maintain trading models, backtest new strategies, and initiate post-trade analysis
• Enhance existing trades; identify and pursue new opportunities
• Liaise between trading group, internal company departments, and OTC relationships
• Further responsibilities may be driven by the individual’s interests and specific skills
Requirements:
• 0 – 2 years of experience at a trading firm or bank, not necessarily in a front office environment, is preferred. Commodities industry related experience is a plus.
• Prior experience of programming projects on large amount of data set. Python is desirable but other programming language is acceptable. Familiarity with machine learning, data
analysis, back-testing and statistical techniques (auto-regression, auto-correlation and Principal Component Analysis) is a plus.
• Strong academic credentials: A degree in quantitative finance, mathematics, computer science, engineering, or a related field from a top-tier institution.
• Possess a strong work ethic and be able to learn quickly in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

• Maintain composure and communicate clearly under pressure
