General Summary:
The Sr Fintech Engineer will play a critical role in shaping the financial data architecture to support production and business operations, predominantly Finance & Accounting (F&A) and Human Resources (HR), business intelligence, and financial reporting functions. This role emphasizes expertise in Microsoft Dynamics Finance and Accounting as the primary ERP, alongside Corporate Performance Management (CPM), Solver Global and HRIS system, UKG. The Sr Fintech Engineer will work cross-functionally with production, finance, technology, and operations teams to implement technology solutions and ensure seamless data integration, automation, and delivery of data driven, actionable insights for strategic decision-making, reporting processes, and organizational efficiency.  

Job Functions: 

  • Lead project management for financial systems initiatives including planning, execution, testing, and deployment ensuring milestones are met within scope and budget by conducting in-depth analysis of current financial systems and workflows, translating finance team needs into business and technical requirements for enhancements, improvement, new systems, and optimization that align with LAIKA’s financial goals and regulatory requirements. 
  • Collaborate with the F&A and HR departments to integrate data from various technology systems into our data architecture, ensuring alignment with Solver for comprehensive CPM reporting. Partner with F&A, HR, Technology, and other business units to understand business processes and translate them into actionable system enhancements. Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure successful implementation of financial systems solutions. Facilitate cross-departmental meetings to gather requirements and present solutions. 
  • Design and implement a scalable financial data architecture that integrates Microsoft Dynamics ERP within a Microsoft Azure cloud environment and leverages software solutions such as Solver Global and UKG systems, to automate and streamline Finance, HR and other business operation processes.  
  • Oversee Azure-based SQL databases, ensuring data integrity, performance, and security for Dynamics ERP data, the data warehouse, and related financial data systems. 
  • Develop and optimize Python APIs for efficient data access, retrieval, and integration between Dynamics Finance and Accounting, Solver Global, and other internal systems. 
  • Create financial and operational reports through Solver, pulling data from various Sass services to provide deep insights that inform strategic and operational decisions, and perform ad hoc data analysis as requested by stakeholders to support strategic decision-making. 
  • Leverage production tracking tools to streamline data collection and feed critical information into Dynamics and our Solver-based CPM system for enhanced operational oversight.
  • Design and implement automation across financial processes including reporting, budget forecasting, and accounting functions, developing custom tools as needed to increase workflow efficiency across teams. Establish well-organized data collection processes and schema taxonomies to optimize data accuracy, consistency, and accessibility across all reporting systems. 
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and financial and data privacy regulations (e.g., SOX, GDPR, PCI-DSS) across all relevant systems. 
  • Provide ongoing technical support and troubleshooting to resolve system issues to ensure data quality, availability, and reliability in all financial and operational reporting processes. Drive continuous improvement initiatives by monitoring system performance and identifying opportunities for efficiency gains and cost savings, and stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies in financial systems to recommend innovative solutions.  

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field. 
  • 7+ years’ experience as a Database Architect, Database Engineer, or similar role, with a focus on ERP systems, especially Microsoft Dynamics ERP for Finance and Accounting, including data structures, workflows, and reporting capabilities.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure services, especially as they relate to Azure Functions and cloud-based data warehousing. 
  • Strong proficiency in SQL databases, data modeling, and performance optimization techniques data warehousing. 
  • Proven experience using and/or developing Python APIs for data integration and retrieval, particularly with Dynamics ERP and Solver Global. 
  • Demonstrated expertise in CPM for financial operations such as budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis; familiarity with Solver Global preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively with production, finance, technology, and operations teams, translating technical requirements for business stakeholders. 
  • Advanced skills in Excel, Power BI, or Tableau for financial and operational reporting.
  • Understanding of financial regulatory requirements (e.g., SOX, GDPR, PCI-DSS) with experience implementing compliant solutions. 
  • Self-motivated and adaptable, with a proactive attitude towards learning and implementing emerging technologies, particularly in ERP and fintech.

Location 
On-site in Hillsboro, OR, and also eligible for hybrid and/or remote work. 

Salary
Salary is commensurate with skills and experience.
