You will work in the Global Payroll Compliance team to create tools, assess metrics data and write reports on the current and identified activities and risk areas we monitor, and be responsible for discovering, advising and measuring risks. Your area of responsibility will focus on global payroll inspections and improvement projects for compliance.
Key job responsibilities
1. Risk Management & Compliance
- Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate potential compliance risks
- Develop and implement comprehensive risk management strategies
- Ensure full compliance with local and international payroll regulations
2. Audit Management
- Lead and coordinate regulatory audit activities
- Manage relationships with internal stakeholders during audits
- Oversee audit documentation and response processes
- Create and implement remediation plans based on audit findings
3. Process Oversight
- Monitor and evaluate operational payroll processes
- Ensure adherence to statutory requirements
- Conduct regular reviews of compliance procedures
- Develop and maintain compliance documentation
4. Stakeholder Management
- Provide expert guidance to global payroll teams
- Deliver ongoing compliance training and education
- Build and maintain relationships with external consultants
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams
5. Project Leadership
- Lead global and regional compliance initiatives
- Manage project timelines and deliverables
- Drive process improvements and best practices
6. Compliance Monitoring & Reporting
- Utilize compliance tools for effective tracking
- Generate and analyze management reports
- Monitor key compliance metrics
- Ensure timely completion of statutory requirements
7. Required Skills
- Japanese language proficiency
- Strong knowledge of global payroll regulations

Base salary depends on the skills and requirements, there will be further pay components such as a sign on bonus and the eligibility to participate in a restricted stock unit scheme operated independently by Amazon.com Inc. in USA.
