Senior Software Engineering Manager - Web Products (Dashboard, API, Developer Platform)

Software is at the heart of our product development, transforming digital models into high-quality physical prints. This team develops:

1. Dashboard –  seamlessly monitor, manage, and optimize their printing workflows and processes, including functionality that powers automation for large (100+) printer fleets, printing hundreds of thousands of parts per year, per installation.
2. Developer platform, APIs – enabling users to maximize uptime, integrate with their workflows, and achieve true automation in their production processes.

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineering Manager in Budapest to lead this team, drive technical excellence, scale our software infrastructure, and build customer-focused solutions.

The Job:

• Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, fostering a high-performing and collaborative environment.
• Own the technical vision and execution for Dashboard & Fleet Control, ensuring scalability, reliability, and ease of use.
• Partner with product management to define roadmaps, prioritize work, and deliver features that improve customer workflows.
• Ensure software quality and maintainability by driving best practices in testing, deployment, and automation.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with firmware, hardware, and customer support teams to provide seamless integration across Formlabs products.
• Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, balancing speed, quality, and operational efficiency.
• Set clear goals and accountability for the team, measuring success through key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Key contributor to software architecture decisions on new products for both R&D and production development
• Coordinate with two remote software teams on release and project planning
• Full responsibility for hiring, growing, and retaining great talent

You:

• Proven experience as a people manager and technical leader 
• Strong background in full-stack development, with expertise in backend, frontend, and cloud-based systems.
• Experience in building and scaling web applications with technologies such as TypeScript, React, Node.js, and Python (or similar, specific language is not a criteria).
• Knowledge of API development, distributed systems, and IoT-connected devices is a plus.
• Proven ability to coach and develop engineers, with a focus on technical growth and career development.
• Strong product sense and ability to translate customer needs into technical solutions.
• Passion for creating best-in-class software that delights users and drives business value.
