As the Senior Manager, Workday & HR Case Management you will be the product owner for our third party system Workday and a strategic partner to the HR Case Management platform (ServiceNow), which is owned by teams in IT. This role has an opportunity to expand ownership to other HR systems (including Intranet etc). This role will blend product management principles with HR technology expertise to ensure our systems meet the evolving needs of our business and employees (aka. Toasters). You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, partner with Senior Managers & Directors to drive system enhancements, and lead a team of HR technology professionals.
This role reports to the Director of People Products and will manage a team in the US and India.
What You’ll Be Doing (Responsibilities)
Strategic Leadership
- Partner with VPs and Directors in the People organization to design and continuously improve our Workday and HR Case Management systems architecture and processes and to align technology solutions with business goals.
- Collaborate with peer leaders to establish your team’s annual strategy and quarterly roadmaps, focusing on automation and scalability to support the company's growth goals.
- Own the technology strategy and operations for your systems portfolio.
- Lead system optimization efforts to enhance user experience and system performance.
- Partner with IT organization on our HR Case Management solution and be a strong partner to IT organization
- Collaborate with Systems team leaders to implement best-practice People processes, architectures, and integrations that enhance adoption, usability, and operational efficiency.
Product Management & Delivery
- Promote a culture of innovation by introducing new software, systems, and programs
- Apply product management methodologies, including agile practices, to implement and enhance HR systems.
- Conduct regular market and system research to stay ahead of HR tech trends.
- Lead vendor selection, management, and contract negotiations.
- Drive adoption and optimize value by recommending improvements for new People SaaS platform features and functionality, focusing on process enhancements and ROI
Team Leadership
- Build and manage the Workday Systems and Unily’s team, fostering a high-performing, supportive environment to effectively execute on the strategic roadmap with focus on raising the bar and mentorship
- Develop strategic roadmaps and maintain a prioritized project backlog to guide the team’s focus and execution and experience managing capacity planning and workload management.
- Select and manage external vendors and consultants as needed to meet project demands
- Foster a collaborative, innovative, and customer-centric team culture.
- Set clear performance goals and provide continuous feedback and development opportunities.

System Ownership & Support
- Oversee and streamline Workday ticket management to provide efficient, global end-user support with the focus on improving operational excellence through innovation.
- Oversee system configuration, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Coach on configuration and manage system components including fields, forms, workflows, reports, dashboards, integrations, and other complex modules.
- Ensure data integrity, compliance, and security across all HR systems.
- Oversee system upgrades and releases, ensuring minimal business disruption.
- Support the People organization during critical cycles and mandatory programs such as open enrollment, performance reviews, and compensation planning.
- Develop and maintain policies, standards, and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Gather and document cross-functional requirements (from business, reporting, analytics) to analyze business needs and select optimal system solutions.
- Experience building out / maturing SOX compliance processes in newly public companies
Change Management & Training
- Develop and execute change management plans for system implementations.
- Partner with HR and Communications teams to deliver end-user training and support.
Do you have the right ingredients**?
- 15+ years of experience in HR technology, with deep expertise in Workday HCM and HR Case Management systems.
- Experience in hyper growth companies and ability to navigate ambiguity and complexity, demonstrate resilience and positivity during headwinds and Ability to thrive in a fast pace evolving environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, HR, or related field.
- Proven people first leadership with growth mindset, Influence and Collaborates Effectively, and
- Proven track record of leading system implementations and large-scale projects.
- Experience applying product management practices, including agile methodologies.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Strong knowledge on APIs and on Workday Architecture
Special Sauce** (Preferred):
- Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
- Familiarity with additional HR technologies and third-party integrations.
