Lead Product Designer - Partner Home Team

This is an onsite role. Employees are expected to be in our Boston or Toronto office Tuesdays-Thursday, and work remotely Mondays and Fridays.

Who We Are

Wayfair is a global online retailer of furniture & décor. Our suppliers deliver our core business proposition: getting great products to our customers quickly and reliably. Partner Home is Wayfair’s supplier-facing ecosystem, providing tools for our 23,000+ partners.

As Lead Product Designer on the Operate My Business team, you will focus on Partner Home and play a crucial role in developing user-centric designs to help suppliers work with us more effectively. Your solutions will empower them to make great inventory management decisions, ensure that products get to warehouses and customers on time, manage their contracts and get paid - in short, to help suppliers excel in running critical aspects of their business.

What You’ll Do:

The Experience Design team at Wayfair is a diverse, multidisciplinary team of world-class designers, hard at work transforming the supplier experience. Our design practice is collaborative, data-driven, and fast-paced.

You will design high-quality experiences that let suppliers understand the state of their stock, replenish it and get orders to customers. You will contribute to discovering new platform solutions and help us reach our outcomes around improved user experience, efficiency, and scalability.

You will partner with product and engineering teams to understand supplier and internal user problems in order to design user-centric experiences. Success in this role means designing data and research-backed solutions that will get broadly adopted across the supplier-facing ecosystem, ensuring intuitive, cohesive journeys.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Use design thinking methodologies to build engaging supplier experiences on the Partner Home platform.
  • Collaborate with product managers, developers, and other experienced designers to execute design concepts that deliver on user and business goals, and are technically feasible to implement.
  • Align with multiple teams to create consistent, reusable solutions.
  • Drive a sense of urgency in delivering projects, using lean tools and techniques.
  • In day-to-day work, focus on gaining user insights, design execution, and maintaining stakeholder alignment.
  • Contribute to the improvement of Design processes and cross-functional collaboration between Product, Design and Engineering teams, embracing Agile methodologies.
  • Demonstrate strong administration and communication skills.
  • Be a strategist who can take a step back on overarching goals and opportunities, while also acting as a thoughtful and pragmatic product practitioner.
  • Contribute to the development of team members through mentorship or informal coaching.

What You’ll Need:

  • 5+ years of professional UX experience.
  • The ability to work autonomously on prioritized objectives.
  • Strong understanding of design processes; knowledge of what is possible and what will be hard to achieve and/or implement in a digital environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: you should be able to communicate rationales for design decisions while being open to new perspectives, manage stakeholders with multiple priorities, and collaborate with product and engineering teams as a critical thought partner.
  • Strong skills in modern design tools like Figma, Sketch, Miro, UserTesting, and Creative Suite.
  • Solid understanding of research principles and methods, with experience in conducting user research independently.
  • A portfolio of case studies that demonstrates unfailing advocacy for the user, highlighting enterprise design work, data-driven approach, and strategic thinking.
