Are you an Intermediate Full Stack Engineer, who is passionate about leading impactful technical projects? We’re looking for an Intermediate Full Stack Engineer to join our team at Thinkific.

As an Intermediate Full Stack Engineer, you will work across our application stack to ensure business milestones are met while also investigating, assessing, and fixing defects within the product. You'll lead small to medium feature projects from conception to completion, working closely with our Engineering, Product Management, and Product Design teams. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, by ensuring seamless delivery of platform features, your contributions will directly impact the quality and efficiency of our platform 

Your goal will be to lead feature projects to successful completion. Here’s how you’ll accomplish this:

  • Lead small to medium feature projects in our agile environment, from conception to completion, working with stakeholders to take projects through shaping, scoping, and execution while mitigating project risks as a team
  • Effectively diagnose and troubleshoot problems within the Thinkific platform
  • Participate in architectural design, review, and implementation of production-quality features
  • Participate in effort and complexity estimation for new/proposed product features and tasks
  • Contribute to collaborative and enriching code reviews in an environment of continuous improvement
  • Work with your team to conduct new technology research; bring fresh ideas and concepts to bear on product development
  • Foster an open, collaborative, and inclusive environment

The person we have in mind likely:

  • Has 3+ years of experience working in a Full Stack development role, and at least 1+ years of experience working in a SaaS environment
  • Showcase working experience with modern server-side programming languages (Ruby, Python, Node, etc.)
  • Familiarity with object-oriented programming paradigm
  • Is knowledgeable and experienced with modern web frameworks (Ruby on Rails, Django, etc.)
  • Has experience with ES6 and at least one modern JavaScript libraries/framework such as React, Svelte, Angular, Vue, etc.
  • Demonstrates a practical understanding of Web APIs, HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • Has experience with RESTful and GraphQL services
  • Has experience with MVC-style web application architecture and web server technologies like WebSockets, Nginx, etc.
  • Has experience with relational databases, SQL and engines like PostgreSQL, MySQ
  • Loves to learn and grow. They’ve found (and keep looking for) ways to level up their skills in this field, whether that’s through formal education, gaining professional experience, or maybe even building their own business

 

These things would also be nice, but we think you could learn them on the job:

  • Has knowledge of front-end languages and frameworks (Javascript, Ember.js, Riot.js, Angular, etc.)
  • Has knowledge of back-end languages and frameworks
  • Feels experienced and knowledgeable with NoSQL and key-value database systems handling data at scale

Please note: the majority of this team is located in the PST timezone. Some adherence to PST working hours would be expected.

The recruitment compensation range for this position is $102,000 - $127,000 CAD. Your specific compensation within this range is determined based on your job-related skills, knowledge, experience, and our internal equity assessment.
