Key job responsibilities
At AWS, we are hiring the best hands-on technical developers, who can help our clients and partners architect and re-architect their business-critical applications to take advantage of the global scale, elasticity, automation and high-availability features of the AWS cloud. Our consultants will collaborate with partner and client teams to deliver proof-of-concept projects, conduct topical workshops, and lead implementation projects. These professional services engagements will focus on customer solutions built with API Gateway, Lambda, ECS, SQS, Kinesis, and others.
As Cloud Application Developer you will lead complex projects with autonomy and discretion, often involving multiple Amazon and customer teams.
You will work with customers and partners, leading them through planning, prioritization and delivery of complex transformation initiatives, while collaborating with relevant Sales and Service Teams. You will design and deliver solutions that solve for new levels of complexity, scale and performance, and in turn, enable breakthrough innovations. You will create and apply frameworks, methods, best practices and artifacts that deliver prescriptive guidance to customers, and publish and present them in large forums and across various media platforms. You will guide customers’ technical architecture and investments, maximizing alignment with the AWS platform, and ease of adoption as new services and products become available.

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.

When we feel supported in the workplace and at home, there’s nothing we can’t achieve in the cloud.- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience, in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field.
- Experience in large-scale software development or application engineering with recent coding experience in two or more of the following languages: Java, JavaScript, C/C++, C#, Objective-C, Node.js, .NET, Python, PHP or Ruby.
- Experience as a technical specialist in Customer-facing roles.
- Ability to think about business, product, and technical challenges in an enterprise environment.
- French, English, and Spanish languages are required. - Masters or PhD in Computer Science, Physics, Engineering or Math.
- Architecting, designing and developing applications on the AWS platform.
- Designing and building application using Container and serverless technologies.
- Experience architecting highly available systems that utilize load balancing, horizontal scalability and high availability.
- Exposure to Agile software development and DevOps practices such as Infrastructure as Code (IaC) (e.g. Terraform, CDK, CloudFormation).
- Continuous Integration (CI) tools (e.g. AWS Code Pipeline, Jenkins, Gitlab, Circle-CI).
- Experience working directly with customers, partners or third-party developers.
