Airbnb was born in 2007 when two hosts welcomed three guests to their San Francisco home, and has since grown to over 5 million hosts who have welcomed over 2 billion guest arrivals in almost every country across the globe. Every day, hosts offer unique stays and experiences that make it possible for guests to connect with communities in a more authentic way.
The Community You Will Join:
Everyone at Airbnb thinks about trust, but our team obsesses over it daily. The Content Integrity team is responsible for detecting and mitigating fraud while ensuring our hosts, guests, homes, and experiences meet our high standards. We constantly work to fight against online fraud (such as fraudulent messaging scams, fake reviews, etc.) as well as ensuring all content on Airbnb is safe, non-hateful, and not discriminatory. Additionally, the team is responsible for stopping platform abuse and keeping guests and hosts on Airbnb.
The Difference You Will Make:
Our team is responsible for stopping fake content on the platform including fake reviews, scam messages, and hateful content. Your role will be to build rules, systems, tools, and mitigation strategies to stop guests from becoming the victim of fraud and save Airbnb millions of dollars in lost costs to fraud. Because of the unstructured nature of the content we verify, you will be working with BERT and LLM models to classify and understand text, image and video content in order to build automated systems for keeping our users and businesses safe.
