The Worldwide (WW) Selling Partner Service Central Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team seeks a Business Analyst (L5) to drive data-driven decision making across the biggest slice of the Amazon Stores business. This is an exciting team that manages the space planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting of 45,000+ Headcount across the business, with associated Operating Expenses of ~$2B per annum. In this role, you will analyze headcount data, develop and enhance expense allocation models, and create automated solutions for space utilization planning and tracking. Your responsibilities will include building scalable headcount forecasting models, simplifying expense allocation analysis tools, and developing automated space optimization planning tools using large-scale datasets. You will have the ability to effectively communicate recommendations to stakeholders and leadership across Human Resources, Central FP&A, Finance, and Real Estate (GREF) teams. Your solutions will maximize operational efficiency while managing costs. The successful candidate will have expertise in financial modeling, data visualization, and excellent project management skills.

We are looking for a person who loves solving complex problems to drive analysis and insights to help our teams make meaningful business decisions. The person should have a detailed understanding of a business requirement or the ability to quickly get to the root cause of a particular business issue, and draft solutions to meet requirements or resolve the problems. You will analyze massive data sets, identify areas to improve, define metrics to measure and monitor programs, and work with different stakeholders to drive improvements over time. You will extract or mine information from our existing systems to create new analysis, and expose data from our group to wider teams in intuitive ways.

Key job responsibilities
• Design and maintain automated dashboards to track and analyze headcount metrics, operational expenses, and space utilization patterns across facilities

• Develop SQL/ETL queries where needed to extract and analyze headcount data, key metrics across operational expenses, space utilization, and facility planning from Amazon's diverse data ecosystems

• Transform complex operational data into actionable insights, focusing on headcount optimization, cost efficiency, and space planning recommendations

• Create compelling data visualizations and presentations to communicate space utilization trends, headcount forecasts, and operational expense analyses to leadership

• Identify opportunities for process automation and efficiency improvements in headcount management, expense tracking, and space allocation systems

• Become the SME for SPS FP&A to develop innovative solutions for emerging challenges while staying current with advanced analytics tools and automation technologies across Amazon

About the team
The Central FP&A team for SPS acts as the hub for financial reporting and driving insights for leaders. We act as the go to source for centralized reporting, work between various regional team across the globe, and partner with the most senior leaders in the SPS and broader stores Org. We are always seeking to ask ourselves how to get better every day and are open to all ideas in our drive to become the best in class FP&A team at Amazon.- 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- 3+ years of Excel (including VBA, pivot tables, array functions, power pivots, etc.) and data visualization tools such as Tableau experience
- 3+ years of business or financial analysis experience
- Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights
- Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders
- Experience with SQL
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent- 5+ years of business analyst, data analyst or similar role experience
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $143,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
