We are seeking a highly skilled SharePoint Server Subscription Edition (SE) Migration Specialist to lead and execute the migration of legacy SharePoint environments (e.g., 2013, 2016, 2019) to SharePoint Server SE on-premise.
The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in SharePoint infrastructure, content and service migration strategies, and troubleshooting complex farm environments.
This role will play a critical part in modernizing our collaboration platform while ensuring continuity, compliance, and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and execute migration from legacy SharePoint farms (2013/2016/2019) to SharePoint Server Subscription Edition (SE).
* Perform pre-migration assessments including inventory of site collections, workflows, custom solutions (WSPs), and third-party integrations.
* Ensure compatibility and refactoring of custom solutions (e.g., server-side code, sandboxed solutions, InfoPath, Nintex, or SharePoint Designer workflows).
* Configure and optimize the new SharePoint SE environment including farm setup, service applications, and search configuration.
* Collaborate with infrastructure and security teams to implement a secure and scalable SharePoint SE architecture.
* Perform data migration using tools such as **PowerShell scripts**, or **database attach method**, depending on the scenario.
* Validate and test migrated sites for content integrity, permissions, workflows, and user experience.
* Provide post-migration support, performance tuning, and documentation.
* Train administrators and content owners on new platform capabilities and governance.
Required Qualifications:
* 5+ years of hands-on experience with SharePoint (2013/2016/2019), including at least 2 years with SharePoint Server SE.
* Proven experience with full lifecycle SharePoint upgrades and migrations, especially involving large enterprise environments.
* Strong knowledge of SharePoint architecture (web applications, service applications, site collections, and search service).
* Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for administration, automation, and reporting.
* Experience with SQL Server, IIS, Windows Server roles, and Active Directory as they relate to SharePoint.
* Familiarity with custom solution remediation and third-party tool compatibility.
* Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
Preferred Requirements:
* Microsoft certification (e.g., MS-740, MS-102, or legacy SharePoint Admin/Dev certs).
* Experience with hybrid SharePoint environments (SE + Online).
* Knowledge of backup/restore, disaster recovery planning, and high availability for SharePoint SE.
* Experience with related technologies like Nintex, InfoPath, or Power Automate.
