Amazon is seeking a dynamic and customer-obsessed Area Manager to lead teams within our fast-paced Ultra fast grocery last mile operations. This role will encompass responsibilities across last mile network requiring a versatile leader who can thrive in a dynamic, ever-changing operational landscape. You will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient workflows, exceeding customer expectations, and driving continuous improvement. Key job responsibilities
- Operational Leadership: Oversee daily last mile operations for multiple stores, including managing teams of operations supervisors and DSP (delivery service partners). This includes allocating labor, leading meetings, assigning job duties, and maintaining exceptional organizational skills.
- Team Management: Lead, train, and develop high-performing teams while ensuring associate safety and adherence to Amazon's Health and Safety standards.
- Performance Management: Be obsessed with metrics, diving deep to identify root causes of performance issues, and implementing effective solutions. Continuously monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive improvements.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline and improve processes. Find practical and simple solutions to complex problems without compromising quality or functionality. Utilize problem-solving and analytical skills to drive Dive Deep analyses and implement process enhancements. Become a subject matter expert on core operational processes.
- Problem Solving & Decision Making: Demonstrate strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities. Act decisively in a fast-paced environment, exercising sound judgment and making informed decisions.
- Technology & Tools: Continuously utilize software and hardware tools to ensure smooth daily operations. Support the rollout and implementation of new systems and processes, gathering feedback and providing support.
- 1+ years of employee and performance management experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience
- Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays- - 1+ years of experience with performance metrics, process improvement, or lean techniques.
- - Degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics, or Business Administration.
- - Ability to thrive in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment.
- - Basic understanding of Lean and Six Sigma.
