About The Team:
This role is responsible for ensuring the quality of incoming raw materials, ensuring the consistent quality of the raw materials through the Distribution Centre. Responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of our food products by conducting quality assessments and monitoring compliance with regulatory standards.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Implementation of procedures related to quality (Goods in/QC intake), including regular reviews of technical SOPs for compliance and training colleagues.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of raw materials, including raising issues on non-conformances, to generate reports and communicate findings to internal stakeholders as necessary.
- Investigate and resolve any issues related to raw materials quality, including non-conforming materials and supplier non-conformance. Implementing corrective actions and preventative measures to mitigate future risks.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of raw materials to ensure they meet quality and safety requirements.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, including carrying out supplier visits to resolve any issues related to raw materials quality.
- Conduct shelf life checks on lines to ensure proper and efficient rotation of stock through the operation.
- Effective management of quarantine areas to coordinate movement of stock according to decisions.
- Identifying and leading continuous improvement processes.
- Undertaking audits and following through on actions regarding compliance to Food Safety; Health & Safety Standards and any other specified standards eg: BRCGS, ISO.
Who You Are:
- Proven experience as a Raw Materials Technologist or in a similar role within the food industry.
- In depth knowledge of food safety regulations, raw materials quality standards, and supplier management practices.
- Familiarity with HACCP principles, GMP and ISO standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed decisions based on data and scientific principles.

Location: The Windmill, 1 Holme Lane, Spondon, Derby, DE21 7HW
Shift Pattern: 7am-7pm (Sunday to Wednesday and Wednesday to Saturday). Either of those set days
