Who we are

Samsara (NYSE: IOT) is the pioneer of the Connected Operations™ Cloud, which is a platform that enables organizations that depend on physical operations to harness Internet of Things (IoT) data to develop actionable insights and improve their operations. At Samsara, we are helping improve the safety, efficiency and sustainability of the physical operations that power our global economy. Representing more than 40% of global GDP, these industries are the infrastructure of our planet, including agriculture, construction, field services, transportation, and manufacturing — and we are excited to help digitally transform their operations at scale.

Working at Samsara means you’ll help define the future of physical operations and be on a team that’s shaping an exciting array of product solutions, including Video-Based Safety, Vehicle Telematics, Apps and Driver Workflows, Equipment Monitoring, and Site Visibility. As part of a recently public company, you’ll have the autonomy and support to make an impact as we build for the long term.

About the Role:

Samsara is looking for a Director of Product Management to lead the development of a new product. This role combines hardware and software to create impactful solutions for customers in industries like transportation, logistics, and physical operations. You’ll have end-to-end ownership of the product, from defining features to driving early adoption and revenue growth.

We’re looking for someone who moves fast, iterates quickly, and has a passion for creating products that “wow” customers. The ideal candidate simplifies complex problems, focuses relentlessly on customer impact, and takes pride in delivering exceptional results. You’ll obsess over every detail, act as the product’s owner, and work directly with customers, including hands-on involvement in closing early deals, demoing to Enterprise customers, and defining pricing.

This is a high-impact role, requiring strong product instincts, technical aptitude, and an entrepreneurial mindset.

This is a remote role based in the United States.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the strategy, roadmap, and execution of a new product line, balancing speed of delivery with long-term value.
  • Collaborate with teams across firmware, hardware engineering, hardware product design, software engineering, product design, sales, and marketing to deliver seamless solutions.
  • Collect and synthesize customer feedback to prioritize features and continuously improve the product.
  • Iterate quickly and creatively to solve customer problems with simplicity and impact.
  • Act as a product owner, ensuring every detail of the user experience meets high standards.
  • Drive adoption and revenue by working closely with Sales to close deals, demo products to Enterprise customers, and define pricing strategies.
  • Define clear success metrics, track progress, and make data-driven decisions to improve outcomes.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 8+ years of product management experience, with a proven track record of launching 0-to-1 products and driving business outcomes.
  • Strong B2B SaaS background, with experience working directly with enterprise customers.
  • Hands-on approach, with the ability to dive into details, from defining features to demoing products and supporting sales.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with a knack for simplifying complex problems and focusing on customer impact.
  • Technical aptitude, with the ability to work closely with technical teams and understand how to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Strong ownership mentality, with a willingness to go above and beyond to deliver exceptional results.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to present ideas clearly to customers and internal teams.
  • Strong business acumen

An Ideal Candidate Also Has:

  • Technical background, such as a degree in engineering, computer science, or related fields.
  • Experience with hardware and software product development, particularly in safety-focused domains.
  • Knowledge of industries such as transportation, logistics, or industrial operations.
  • Proven ability to manage pricing, revenue accountability, and go-to-market strategy for new products.
  • Entrepreneurial experience or background in high-growth environments.
