We're seeking an Operations Engineer to drive continuous improvement in our delivery station designs through data-driven benchmarking and innovative solutions. You'll work to enhance the safety, cost, and efficiency of our operational designs while helping shape the future of Amazon's last-mile network.
As an Operations Engineer, you'll be instrumental in identifying and scaling best-in-class design standards across our global network of delivery stations. We're looking for a data-driven, customer-obsessed engineer who can deeply understand operational workflows, analyze complex processes, and translate findings into actionable design improvements. The ideal candidate excels at conducting thorough benchmarking analyses, builds strong partnerships across stakeholder teams and regions, and has a track record of delivering measurable improvements to operational designs. You should be comfortable diving deep into operational metrics, passionate about learning delivery station processes and design standards, energized by solving complex operational challenges, and skilled at bringing cross-functional teams together to ensure we deliver standardized solutions that enhance safety and efficiency while reducing costs.
Key job responsibilities
Lead initiatives that objectively measure and improve safety, cost, and efficiency in delivery station design.
Analyze operational data and build reports to support design decisions.
Develop and validate design standards through data-driven analysis.
Identify unnecessary variation and propagate best-in-class standards.
Participate in design review and site walks to gather direct operational feedback.
Drive cross-functional collaboration to achieve project goals.
Support continuous improvement initiatives for launch design quality.
Partner with Engineering teams to implement design improvements.
Document and standardize best practices across regions.
A day in the life
You'll spend your day collaborating with Operations leaders and Design Engineers to understand their challenges, conducting analyses of building designs and operational data, and developing recommendations for improvements. You'll participate in post-launch design walks, gather direct feedback from site teams, and work continuously to improve our design standards. Through benchmarking activities and partnerships with Process Engineering, ACES, and Start-Up teams, you'll help validate and implement solutions that transform how we design and launch delivery stations worldwide.- Bachelor's degree in industrial or manufacturing engineering
- 4+ years of industrial engineer, operations engineer, manufacturing engineer, or project engineer in a manufacturing environment experience
- Experience in logistics, distribution, or fulfillment processes.
- Experience with benchmarking technical metrics and operational designs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills .- Master's degree in industrial or manufacturing engineering
- Experience working under pressure in a cross-functional organization.
- Experience in Lean Management methodologies.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Understanding of design and process engineering standards for Last Mile delivery stations.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $68,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $126,400/year in our highest geographic market.
