The Distributed SQL team at AWS is reinventing transactional database technology, delivering innovative customer experiences in the areas of automated operations, global scale, query processing, and storage. We are building and operating large scale, distributed, fault tolerant data and transaction management solutions built natively for the cloud. Our team consists of industry leading innovators, with multitudes of patents and research publications in this space. We are looking for a Front-End Engineer who is passionate about building innovative web applications for transactional database users. Our mission is to make it easy for our users to setup, run, manage and monitor databases. If shaping the vision, design, roadmap and development of the web applications excites you, this role may be right for you.

You will be responsible for building the user experience for this disruptive product and must have experience building web applications from scratch. You are someone who thrives in delivering high quality solutions in an environment where priorities shift fast to meet the changing needs of our customers. The FEE is expected to have proficiency on Typescript or Javascript, React, Redux and has experience on writing UI tests (puppeteer, jest, mocha, webdriverio, etc.). Responsibilities also include development of plugins to integrate with other systems. It’s preferable if the FEE has basic knowledge on AWS services like CloudWatch and CloudFormation.

About the team
The Distributed SQL Console team works closely with the Product team, UX designers and with engineers that are building the database technology in an agile method. We work with other front end development teams in Amazon to tap into their experience and get support and mentorship on how to develop a focused customer experience with very high standards. The team is highly ambitious to create user friendly intuitive interfaces optimized for performance in a highly collaborative environment. - 3+ years professional experience in software development
- 1+ years experience in fullstack development
- Possess knowledge and skills in building highly interactive interfaces using modern technologies including Typescript or Javascript, React and Redux
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering or related technical discipline
- Computer Science fundamentals in data structures, algorithm design, problem solving, complexity analysis, object-oriented design, and design patterns
- Have experience in the full development lifecycle.- 1+ years experience building scalable, distributed, front-end experiences
- 1+ years experience in writing UI tests (similar to one or more of puppeteer, jest, mocha, webdriverio)

The base salary for this position ranges from $114,800/year up to $191,800/year. Salary is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
