So, what’s the role all about?

This position will lead R&D teams that develop enterprise-grade and cloud-scale products.

We are looking for someone who is an established R&D leader, passionate about building and operating cloud-native and highly distributed products used by millions of users in a SaaS business model, has a deep understanding of agile development methods, and can lead a team of highly qualified software engineers.

How will you make an impact?

  • Lead the development of enterprise-grade SaaS data lake infrastructure that supports thousands of customer tenants.
  • Manage a software development team that includes developers and testers.
  • Work with the line of business to define the short-term and long-term product roadmap and strategy.
  • Work closely with product managers, technical architects, technical writers, and software engineers across multiple geographies to define/develop product capabilities, support and maintain the platform.
  • Lead the teams' delivery to a successful release by tracking work, dependencies, and risks, and taking corrective actions as necessary.
  • Be accountable for the quality of the product by ensuring the best quality engineering practices are followed including (but not limited to): unit tests, test automation, code reviews, and secure development practices.
  • Manage all people aspects of the team, such as hiring, reviews, mentoring, rewards and recognition, etc.
  • Prioritize, assign, and manage department activities and projects per the R&D department's goals and objectives. Adjust priorities and staff assignments to ensure efficient operation based on commitments.
  • Design and present projects to improve the current process and the overall platform.

Have you got what it takes?

  • 14+ years of experience in Software Engineering, with at least 3 years' experience managing multiple teams of software developers.
  • Proven track record of managing, developing, and supporting enterprise-grade, multi-tenant cloud-native software delivered as-a-service (SaaS).
  • Must have experience with Streaming technology like kinesis / kafka, Data Lake / Data Warehouse technology like Snowflake or Databricks, Kubernetes, AWS, cloud architecture.
  • Good experience with software release management, deployment, support, DevOps processes and tools for CI/CD and monitoring.
  • Experience in product development using Java technologies, web technologies, golang, python.
  • Experience with agile software development methodology.
  • Experience in leading quality practices and SLAs for SaaS applications.
  • Experience working with global teams is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, influencing skills, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
