Job Description

The Email Marketing Manager will be responsible for building and managing email marketing campaigns to promote our flagship events. They will collaborate with several teams on planning and executing the email promotion.

Key responsibilities:

Campaigns:

  • Leverage marketing automation tool (Salesforce Account Engagement, former Pardot) to design, build, manage and execute the email campaigns
  • Work towards minimizing list decay and unsubscribes while increasing the productivity of email sends. Manage subscribers database to increase the email list and improve response rate.
  • Support the global and local marketing teams to drive registrations for local and global events.
  • Support the management of technical aspects of key marketing systems (marketing automation, CRM) used to generate, distribute, and report on leads and ROI.
  • Continuously work to improve knowledge on email campaign best practices (functionality, cadence, deliverability, etc.)
  • Help define and execute strategies to maximize Events registrations through email communication. 
  • Manage email production process end to end: campaign scheduling; segmentation; email asset production; email vendor management and post-deployment analysis.
  • Run reports and analyze our email campaigns performance to identify opportunities and improvement areas

Comms & Content:

  • Partners with the Events and Content team to co-develop email marketing content.
  • Defines requirements and email templates to gather content from stakeholders
  • Provides recommendations and consultancy on email marketing best practices

Design:

  • Work with an internal team to design and create HTML templates; follow best practices and implement A/B testing to ensure all templates are optimized for performance.
  • Is capable to understand and edit HTML emails for minor changes and to improve the existing templates

Field Marketing:

  • Work with the regional Field Marketing team to co-develop email marketing content for local events and coordinate the translation efforts.

Segmentation:

  • Segment email lists and identifies key data points for email segmentation
  • Ensures that email lists are segmented based on behaviors such as past email engagement, websites interactions or subscription preferences as well as on profile data

Legal:

  • Understands legal requirements and ensure messaging complies with GDPR

Analysis, tracking & Reporting:

  • Can identify insights and gaps using dashboards and reports. Run a continuous optimization of the ongoing email campaigns.
  • Know what UTM parameters are and how to implement them to ensure all leads are properly tracked and that all relevant data is available in Pardot.
  • Continually examine marketing performance and analyze trends to assess areas for improvement and optimization
  • Provide effective reports for presentations, as well as executive summaries
  • Understands the new spam policies of Gmail and Yahoo and knows how to be compliant with them. 
  • Understands email deliverability best practices. Experience with the platform Everest is a plus. 

Required Skills:

  • 3-5 years of experience managing Email Marketing tools and Marketing Automation programs and technology, preferably using Pardot and Salesforce.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of B2B digital marketing, lead and demand generation, preferably in the Events promotion area
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or related
  • Solid writing skills and experience creating marketing content
  • Good attention to detail skills.
  • Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS
  • Ability to communicate potentially difficult concepts and ideas in English
  • Good presentation skills
