The Amazon Japan Consumer Innovation (JCI) team is seeking an accomplished, customer-centric, and strategically-minded Senior Product Manager - Technical with a proven track record in the e-commerce sector. The role involves leading the launch and promotion of a new paid service empowering vendors on Amazon to thrive. As a key contributor, you will assume end-to-end ownership of paid services and products, addressing top vendor needs to enhance satisfaction and drive sustainable free cash flow for Amazon Japan. Collaboration with both local and global business and technical teams is integral to this role.

Key job responsibilities
To be successful in this role, the Sr. Product Manager - Tech needs to demonstrate a unique combination of strategic, technical, and operational acumen in building, to launch paid services and products. You have experience defining the strategic vision for major features of a product or service, establishing a roadmap, and have a track record of successfully partnering with business teams to understand Retail insights and driving engineering/science teams to deliver on that vision. You understand the architecture of the systems and technologies behind your product (e.g., workflows, APIs, runtime characteristics, design limitations, and maintenance requirements). You are able to influence multiple stakeholders on technical priorities and business strategy through data-driven proposals and communicate ideas effectively, both verbally and in writing, to all types of audiences including senior leadership. The PMT must also have excellent judgement in prioritizing between vendor experience, business needs, technical design excellence to maximize business impact.

About the team
• JCI is a centralized team that support the JP retail business through Tech, Science and services. Our vision is to enable vendors to be successful on Amazon regardless of their size or lifecycle in a scalable and efficiency way.
• Over five years, JCI has grown from 10 members to a team of over 150.
• JCI has the highest number of Sr. PMT in Japan, fostering an optimal learning environment for PMT.
• Products and services impacting all Product Family in JP.
• Engaging in fun events such as monthly team lunches, quarterly dinners, and informal weekly drinks.- 5+ years of experience in end-to-end development of large scale, complex, and globally scalable technical products for e-commerce. Strong understanding of software development lifecycle.
- Master’s Degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline required, or work equivalent of successfully managing and shipping highly technical products.
- Experience in designing and building scalable products in the e-commerce B2B space. Skilled at product strategy, roadmaps, and prioritization between Product and Technical teams.
- Strong experience in working with engineering teams in agile development, and project & program management.
- Ability to contribute to the technical design of a feature considering a product’s performance, ability to scale, and its impact on the ability to innovate for customers in the future.
- Proficiency in cross-functional stakeholder management and highly effective communication with senior or strategic partners.
- Fluency in both Japanese and English at business level.- Experience in end-to-end development of paid services for e-commerce with successful track record of hitting adoption targets.
- 3+ years working with retail teams in Japan
- A solid grasp of the business side of technology and/or operations with an understanding and zeal for metrics and analysis to deliver on business objectives.
- Experience in Japan's B2B e-commerce industry, working with vendor, seller, and account management systems and automation.
- Experience in writing efficient database queries in a large-scale business environment.
- Experience working with and effectively influencing remote global product, program, and technical teams.
