Job Description

On-site
Are you passionate about helping startups succeed? Join us in shaping how startups leverage AWS to build and scale their businesses. As a Tech Business Development Leader on the AWS Startup Investments team, you'll pioneer a portfolio of promotional investment initiatives and offerings that provide startups with the resources they need at critical growth stages.

In this role, you'll be an architect of our credit and cash promotional offerings, designing solutions that help startups migrate, build, test, and assess their solutions on AWS. You'll work at the intersection of technology and business, collaborating with AWS Startup Sales and Partner teams to create and deploy strategic offers that drive startup success. Your impact will be felt across our global ecosystem as you manage promotional campaigns, set eligibility criteria, and optimize annual budgets.

We're looking for a leader who brings together deep business acumen and technical curiosity. Your background should showcase extensive experience in business development, finance, and startups, coupled with an eagerness to deepen your AWS Cloud knowledge. You thrive in environments where you can apply both analytical rigor and creative thinking to solve complex problems.

Success in this role requires more than just individual excellence; you'll also need to be a master of collaboration. You'll work across geographical and organizational boundaries, uniting diverse teams around common goals. Whether you're presenting to executives or working with sales teams, your communication skills and strategic mindset will help you build consensus and drive results.

The ideal candidate is someone who takes ownership, embraces ambiguity, and approaches challenges with resourcefulness. You have a proven track record of launching successful, metrics-driven initiatives and can point to tangible business outcomes from your work. Most importantly, you understand that your role is about more than just managing investment strategies, it's about accelerating the success of startups and contributing to AWS's leadership in the startup space.

If you're ready to make a significant impact on the startup ecosystem while working with cutting-edge technology and diverse teams, we want to hear from you. Join us in shaping the future of how startups build and scale on AWS.

Key job responsibilities
This is an individual contributor role, however you will serve as the Global Investments Manager for startup-focused initiatives at AWS that require cross-team influence. Your role will include but is not limited to:

• Work backwards from the startup customer and deep dive to solve unique startup problems.
• Identify clear barriers to startups’ adoption of AWS Cloud and refine the offer scope to seamlessly remove all barriers, while delivering excellent customer experience.
• Build a portfolio of promotional investment initiatives for all startups globally. It is key for you to be able to think through delivery of the investment offerings – both internal and customer facing – across all geographies.
• Serve as the chief evangelist for your portfolio of promotional investments. As an internal facing resource, create clear collateral and content to create awareness of your portfolio among all key stakeholders.
• Define key results for your initiatives – both for startup customers and AWS. Set goals, define metrics, and create reporting that demonstrates progress.
• Work with leadership teams to continue to refine and grow the scope of the portfolio. Strike a balance between driving global standardization and catering to regional differences.
• Work with the Partner team to support projects and provide hands-on-keyboard support for key technical projects.
• Create mechanisms to constantly understand ‘Voice of Customer’ through surveys and internal feedback from startup-facing team members.
