Senior Software Engineer, Infrastructure, Spanner

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience in software development.
• 3 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure or distributed systems.
• Experience with software development in C++.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience architecting and developing large-scale distributed systems, concurrency, multithreading and synchronization.
• Experience troubleshooting and debugging complex distributed systems.
• Experience with database internals, database architecture, development, and database programming.

Spanner is a global distributed database which powers the majority of key Google services and operates at planet scale. In this role, you will need to have an interest and experience in systems to solve technical problems related to Spanner availability and scale.

• Define and design software features in collaboration with Google customers and Spanner leadership.
• Deliver and implement technical solutions in collaboration with other engineers. 
• Test, document and roll out features for Spanner.
• Design, develop, and debug large-scale distributed systems and infrastructure.
