Your Impact

  • Technical Proficiency:
    • Product Knowledge: Ability to demonstrate an understanding of Axon's products and services and articulate their benefits, how they meet customer needs, and the problems they solve.
    • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the industry, inclusive of the competitive landscape, emerging trends, and customer pain points.
  • Solution Architecture:
    • Expertise in designing high level technical solutions that address customer requirements.
  • Pre-sales Skills:
    • Demo and Presentation Skills: Skilled in giving product demonstrations and presentations to potential clients.
    • Discovery: Ability to successfully uncover customer pain points to map to Axon’s product set.
    • RFP/RFI Response: Aptitude in responding to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Information (RFIs) in a comprehensive and persuasive manner.
  • Sales Acumen:
    • Understanding of Sales Process: Possess a thorough understanding of the sales process and an ability to work closely with the sales team to help move deals forward, especially from a technical perspective.
    • Negotiation Skills: Ability to negotiate and handle objections effectively during the sales process.
  • Customer Focus:
    • Empathy: Intimately understand the needs and pain points of potential customers and ability to tailor solutions to address those needs, especially the IT and technical persona.
    • Problem-Solving: Intuitive identification and solving of customer challenges through technical solutions.
  • Leadership:
    • Team Management: Effective leadership and management skills to guide and motivate a team of sales engineers ensuring they are being used to their full potential.
    • Communication: Strong communication skills to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Adaptability: Agile and malleable- ability to navigate ambiguous and changing business environment/priorities.
    • Project Management: Effective project management skills to ensure timely and successful execution of pre-sales projects.
    • Customer Relationship Management: Ability to build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with customers.
  • Data Analysis: An understanding of data analytics and how to use data to inform sales strategy and decisions.

What You'll Bring

  • 3+ years experience in Technical Sales or Sales Engineering leadership
  • Bachelor's degree (minimum), preferred - Engineering or Computer Science
  • Minimum of 5+ years of SE experience
  • Minimum of 3+ years of SAAS experience
  • Have held and managed a quota carrying team
  • Extremely strong communicator (both oral & written)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, staff, coach, plan, forecast
  • Ability to influence cross-functionally to achieve results
  • Travel will be required. (up to 50%)

You May Also Have

  • Master’s degree or MBA
  • Background in Networking and Enterprise Software
  • Knowledge of sales methodologies such as Challenger, MEDDIC, and/or SPIN
  • Knowledge of security, ipsec, infosec, and methodologies
  • Must have basic knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, and storage devices
  • Has successfully worked with and/or in a dispersed work force environment
  • Experience with CRM technology and operational tracking with Salesforce.com

The Pay: Axon is a total compensation company, meaning compensation is made up of base pay and bonus. The starting base pay for this role is between USD 106,000 in the lowest geographic market and USD 155,000 in the highest geographic market. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: level, function, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, geographic market, and often a combination of all these factors.
