The Amazon Corporate Business Development team is looking for a leader to join our team who will be responsible for supporting cross-Amazon strategic partnerships and engagements. This leader will work closely with our CorpBD vertical leaders and directly with partners, and have deep acumen in partner engagement, project management, and defining/driving business results. The successful candidate will be a self-starter that thrives in ambiguity, with the ability to lead and manage through influence, with a willingness to dive deep and define methods and operational mechanisms, while earning trust with internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate has a demonstrated history of successful ownership of large, complex problems and engaging with cross-functional teams, up to and including the C-suite level. The right candidate will possess a strong customer-first mindset, analytical skill-set, and have a track record for defining a strategy and building programs to operate consistently and at high quality in a consistent and structured manner. This role will be highly visible at the most senior levels within Amazon, and offers a unique opportunity for candidates who want to define, design, build, and operate programs with meaningful impact across Amazon business units. Additionally, a successful candidate will also have a strong sense of when to leverage a standard program/method, and when a creative, bespoke approach is required to meet a partner engagement objective. We seek candidates with a mix of business development, partner management, and program management experience, with a strong entrepreneurial spirit. Experience building and delivering programs and bringing them to scale, and a strong aptitude for learning new things and diving deep are a must. The leader will bring a history of innovation, creativity, and is both a strategic and analytical thinker who can solve complex problems by creating efficiencies and process improvements and by working effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced setting that is constantly evolving. The right candidate is a highly effective written and oral communicator who has strong judgement and high EQ, and is comfortable in a hands-on role that requires "rolling up oneโs sleeves to get the job doneโ.
Key job responsibilities
- Building repeatable programs for world-class partner management both for our defined strategic partners (external) and for ongoing alignment communication with internal Amazon business unit teams (cross-functional).
- Actively supporting key partners and CorpBD partner leads, to effectively foster defined CorpBD partnerships that span across Amazon's businesses, with high-visibility (CEO/CXO)
- Defining and iterate a partner management operational framework, from how we identify the right partners to work with, to curation on transformative ideas for the partnership, to Program Management of strategic partner initiatives (internally and externally) to governance and communication methods.
- Scoping and defining partner engagement strategies and implementing the framework including communications, executive engagement, milestone planning, and goals setting/tracking.
- Defining and delivering quantifiable results demonstrating success and impact of partner initiatives/projects.
- Establishing and continuous improvement of mechanisms, tools, and processes that promote effective collaboration internally and externally with partners,.
- Building metrics, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms (using and suggesting ideal tools) to track activity and progress for partnership engagements, using insights from this data as a feedback loop to improve and refine partnership/programs & operations, and collaborating with teams across Amazon to orchestrate effective partner management.
A day in the life
Working closely with CorpBD vertical and partnership leaders, the role is responsible for building and managing mechanisms used to manage relationships with strategic partners. This involve helping to define and deliver partner engagement strategies, building and managing effective internal and external communications between Amazon and partner companies as well as with internal Amazon stakeholders, effective tracking and reporting of results, milestones and impact (up to and including S-team), and continuous improvement of best practices and program mechanisms, as well as continuous learnings across partner engagement within and across CorpBD team.

The Partner Programs team within Amazon Corporate Business Development is responsible for supporting Amazonโs most strategic partnership relationships, and for scaling partnership management excellence across all relationships managed within CorpBD. The team focuses on driving long term value for Amazon through holistic strategic partnerships with industry leading companies with whom we have shared interests, cultural compatibility, and unique potential to create enduring value for end customers. We aim to accomplish this by establishing and fostering multi-year top-to-top relationships, effective executive engagements, and driving transformational impact for Amazon, our partners, and the customers we serve.
- 5+ years of professional or military experience
- 5+ years of developing, negotiating and executing business agreements experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules- Experience interpreting data and making business recommendations
- Experience identifying, negotiating, and executing complex legal agreements

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $220,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
