**About the Role**
Grocery is Uber’s newest and fast growing business line, delighting customers with next-hour delivery of household essentials from their favorite local stores. The Shopper Experience team is focused on building best-in-class products and technology to help shoppers fulfill grocery orders.
The Shopper Experience team is looking for a strong Backend engineer to help build the next generation of fulfillment tools to allow shoppers to quickly and accurately pick and pack items. As a backend engineer, you'll be responsible for features from the inception to launch. You'll collaborate closely with engineers across the tech stack and be expected to give input on how we design new experiences for our shoppers.
## **Minimum qualifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field **OR** 3-year full-time Software Engineering work experience, **WHICH INCLUDES** 3-year total technical software engineering experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Programming language (e.g. C, C++, Java, Python, or Go)
- _Note the 3-year total of specialized software engineering experience may have been gained through education and full-time work experience, additional training, coursework, research, or similar (OR some combination of these). The year of specialized experience is not necessarily in addition to the years of Education & full-time work experience indicated._
