**About the Role** Uber’s Core Services Science team provides business insights and technical solutions within safety, insurance, customer support, risk, and payments to help our users experience a smooth ride or delivery on Uber's platform. Our work covers a broad range of analytics, including experimentation, causal inference, forecasting, business metrics and reporting, and predictive modeling. We’re looking for a Program Manager to join our Science PMO, which supports a variety of teams across data science, analytics, product management and engineering. Things move fast at Uber and we need talent that moves at Uber speed while focusing on delivering sustainable solutions and outcomes. **What the Candidate Will Do:** - Facilitate Your Portfolio: Build and steer a program that includes a diverse set of initiatives such as new product launches, optimizing our existing tech and/or processes, or enterprise system transformations. - Drive Our Cadences: Support the “rhythm of our business” through program reporting and engagement between the Science org and our partner teams. This includes everything from tactical program reviews, to senior management reporting through channels like “Monthly Tech Day” (where our CEO is in attendance). - Problem Solve & Operate Autonomously: We're faced with new and exciting problems that need creative solutions every single day! One day might include going deep to conduct analysis of a particular issue, the next might require zooming out to craft the strategy of a multi-year program with only general guidance from leadership. - Analytics at Scale: Our PMO has a dotted-line responsibility for our offshore analytics team (350+ data analysts, data engineers, and risk analysts) who provide leverage to our core team by transitioning project work to BAU. - Roll Up Your Sleeves: Champion continuous improvement and strengthen operational efficiency by breaking down key business problems and building up sustainable solutions. - Provide Leverage: Ensure continuous and effective coordination of the cross-functional teams executing work within or in parallel to your program; you take an ownership mentality no matter where you sit within the RACI matrix. - Elevate Our Insights: Ensure that our teams address key strategic questions through analytical insights that build a long-term advantage for Uber. **Basic Qualifications:** - Bachelor’s degree - 3+ years of relevant experience - Experience managing large and complex projects in a matrixed environment, working with highly technical stakeholders (including product management, data science, engineering, AI/ML practitioners, etc.) - Strong stakeholder management skills; able to quickly build relationships and gain respect (with both technical and non-technical stakeholders) - Proficient with data and business intelligence tools (e.g., SQL, Tableau, Mixpanel, Google Data Studio). - Relevant program management certifications (PMP, Agile/Scrum Master, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Prosci, CCMP, etc.). **Preferred Qualifications:** - Technology, Consulting, Analytics or related experience a plus - Very strong verbal and written communication, with executive-level slide-building and presentation skills - Deep working knowledge of project management methodologies with a head for problem-solving and critical-thinking; strong business judgment and decision-making skills - Experienced with project management tools and software (e.g., Confluence/JIRA, Google Suite, Smartsheet, Asana). For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$125,000 per year - USD$139,000 per year. You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
