WHAT YOU’LL DO:

The primary mission of the Senior Financial Accountant is to ensure that the firm meets the financial control and reporting obligations of a global and regulated financial institution. This role is responsible for the financial and regulatory reporting functions for the firm. At Optiver Taiwan, the Senior Financial Accountant is part of the Business Support team of 4 employees, consisting of Finance, Middle Office, and Accounts Payable and supports the Trading business by ensuring a strong control environment is maintained to manage and mitigate our risk.

In this role, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Manage the preparation of financial reporting, statutory financial reporting, tax reporting and audit-related deliverables, liaising with our external auditors as required, ensuring they are completed accurately, timely and are fully rationalised against the context of the business’s operations;
  • Develop financial budgets and forecasts through facilitating cross-functional collaboration;
  • Serve as a Finance Business Partner, assist to perform analysis of regulatory requirements for proposed new businesses/specific trades;
  • Exercise control over management and financial reporting;
  • Drive improvement in design for more effective, efficient, and transparent processes; support the development of automated reporting solutions;
  • Work closely with other areas of firm such as Middle office, Tax, Trading, Risk, Legal and Tech on various ad hoc inquiries including strategic business initiatives, automation / workflow initiatives, and transfer pricing;
  • Partnering with the Business Support teams across the global offices to ensure initiatives are best practice, consistent and fit for purpose at Optiver;

 

WHO YOU ARE:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Commerce or Business;
  • At least 8 years’ relevant experience working in Financial Markets with a strong understanding of the TAIFEX Futures and Options products and markets; experience of working in a finance team, and managing a broad range of finance activities/initiatives
  • Strong understanding of Taiwan accounting standards and statutory reporting requirements;
  • A risk & control mindset and a desire to add value;
  • Ability to work both independently and within a collaborative team environment;
  • High resiliency to competing priorities and uncompromising focus on quality;
  • Distinctly self-motivated and capable of handling multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment;
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Excellent English & Mandarin written and verbal communication skills;
  • License: Taiwan Future Brokerage license.
