London is one of the most diverse cities in the world, and is home to some of the best museums, a thriving international restaurant scene and bustling high streets that attract people from all over the globe.

What you’ll do:

As an Institutional Sales, you will have the chance to play a key role in growing Optiver's direct counterparty (DCP) franchise across Commodities, focusing on oil and/or gas. In addition to being an integral part of increasing DCP interactions, you will also help steer the trading desks' evolution and growth into new markets. Specifically, you will:

  • Establish, develop and maintain relationships with counterparts in the commodities space (ideally focusing on oil and/or gas)
  • Execute trades with counterparts, act as point person in sequences, and be in between Optiver traders and counterparts
  • Assist derivatives traders in their direct trading with counterparts, guiding on sequence dialogue and giving context to help trading price most effectively
  • Support our trading team’s growing understanding of both individual and wider DCP sector trading to help inform their trading efforts
  • Develop participant profiles, reports and analyses
  • Work with the marketing team to develop and maintain content as it pertains to direct trading initiatives
  • Attend conferences and seminars for related products

Who you are and what you bring:

  • Experienced Institutional Sales with a focus on commodities
  • Experience with oil or gas options strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge about the derivatives market and its participants at CME & ICE exchanges
  • Existing contacts with derivatives end-users and the ability to build a book of counterparties
  • Experience in dealing with hedge funds, both from transactional and market conversational perspective
  • A willingness to travel and meet face to face with prospective and current counterparties
  • An ability to entertain and manage the organisation of events
  • A proactive nature that allows you to learn quickly and impact counterparties autonomously
  • The ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • A deep understanding of rules and regulations governing the markets we trade

What you’ll get:

At Optiver UK, you will be part of a well-established and high-performing global firm whilst experiencing the excitement that comes from a growing operation. As our London operations grow, the opportunity to make a global impact and take your career to a new level expands with it. We offer a supportive environment for you to perform at your best. Some of our key benefits include:

  • Competitive remuneration
  • 27 paid vacation days (plus UK public holidays)
  • Daily onsite breakfast and lunch
