Role overview:

Responsible for the support and maintenance of the BlueCrest Linux estate and Automation Services, providing robust solutions based on leading technologies to enhance and support our business. Deliver excellent levels of service to the business, understanding key business processes with a solid understanding of how solutions we deliver aid and develop our growing business.

Understand and involve themselves in the critical BAU and technology service delivery elements in a time sensitive environment, whilst being innovative and implementing new solutions to enhance business performance. Follow pre-defined scope, design and plans, to assist in implementing and supporting new and existing technology initiatives, demonstrating clear communication skills.

Experience Required:

•  RedHat Certified System Administrator/Engineer (RHCSA/RHCSE) – desirable:
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of RedHat Enterprise Linux Server (8&9) and Container administration (Docker/K8s/Helm/Kompose/Prometheus/GitOps) with install, setup, automation and support in a diverse, highly dynamic and fast paced environment.
  • Knowledge of integration of Linux within a Windows environment, i.e. AD/Kerberos integration
•  Experience of automation and orchestration of cross platform services using for example Ansible, Jenkins and ServiceNow
• Scripting/Programming skills in advanced Python, Bash, API’s and data structures in JSON/YAML or other
• Experience in server hardware implementation, maintenance, monitoring and automation (Infrastructure as Code) with Ansible (HPE Synergy ideal)
• A good understanding and knowledge of multi-protocol NAS (VAST), and Block storage (HPE) with Fibre Channel storage solutions, and their platform integration points
• Veritas NetBackup 10.x onwards – Operational and architectural experience
• Technology focused and understands the need for rapid delivery whilst appreciating business constraints
• Keen to learn new technology and platforms in an enterprise trading environment
• Current in technology trends and directions

About you:

The ideal candidate is an Infrastructure engineer, with a broad range of skills, and experience. The key requirement is Red Hat Linux expertise, but with experience of Hosted and On-Premise system integration with focus on standardisation, achieved with automation and orchestration tools.

This role would be suited to an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual who thrives working in a pressurised environment and who wants to develop their skills and knowledge Linux, Automation areas whilst gaining detailed understanding of business processes
