WHAT YOU’LL DO:

The primary mission of this role is to ensure the firm is conducting its business operations and transactions in full compliance with the applicable regulatory requirements and internal guidelines, helping the firm identify and mitigate risks by ensuring a strong control environment is maintained. Performing regulatory internal audit duties is a key part of the role, and the ideal candidate will have primary responsibility for the internal audit functions of the Optiver Taiwan office.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Performing Internal Audit (IA) duties and preparing IA reports to fulfil onshore regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinating with the relevant stakeholders to maintain the firm’s internal control system based on the regulatory prescribed templates.
  • Challenging the effectiveness of the company’s internal controls by performing risk assessment and control assurance and contributing to their overall improvement.
  • Responding to routine audits and inquiries.
  • Engaging with the Group Internal Audit team where appropriate

In addition, you may be asked to provide some support on:

  • Coordinating and scheduling the required external employee trainings.
  • Handling company and staff registration, regulatory reporting obligation and board meetings coordination.
  • Regulatory change management identifying global and local developments, extracting relevant points, analysing applicability, advising stakeholders, tracking implementation.
  • Assisting the firm to maintain up to date written documentation and policies related to the firm’s business activities.

 

WHO YOU ARE:

  • A relevant bachelor’s degree.
  • Taiwan Securities Senior Agent license and/or Taiwan Futures Specialist license (alternatively to obtain within 3 months after joining).
  • 2 or more years of work experience in Internal Audit (IA), Compliance, Operational Risk, or Control functions in a financial institution; ideally some experience in IA or auditing firm.
  • Ability to work with ambiguity.
  • Ability to function independently.
  • Responsible and attention to detail.
  • Effectively communicate with business stakeholders and external bodies.
  • Strong verbal and written communication in English and Mandarin.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional ethics, integrity, and commitment to upholding the highest standards of compliance and professionalism.
