CTC is looking for a Senior Linux Engineer to join our Linux Engineering team. We leverage software and hardware engineering to deliver Linux infrastructure in support of our real-time trading environment, development systems, research arrays, OpenShift clusters, and more. This role will require deep technical, operational, and people skills to work across all areas of the trading platform. You will join a tight knit team that emphasizes collaboration, candor, competence, and a passion for finding solutions to complex problems.

What You’ll Do:

  • Build, operate, optimize, and troubleshoot multiple on-prem OpenShift clusters across multiple continents 
  • Design, implement, operate, and support CTC’s global Linux infrastructure 
  • Collaborate with traders, developers, operations teams, technologists, and management to deliver high-quality solutions to real-world problems 
  • Take a data driven approach to analysing and solving complex problems  
  • Use an engineering mindset and automation to improve service delivery and increase user satisfaction 
  • Guide projects from beginning to end, including design, procurement, implementation, and documentation 
  • Research new technologies and solutions; be a catalyst for change 
  • Constantly improve monitoring and alerting for system and application performance 
  • Participate in an on-call rotation with the team for off-hours support. Other duties as assigned or needed. 

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience running OpenShift is required 
  • Experience running OpenShift/Kubernetes on bare metal is preferred 
  • Strong experience supporting multiple geographically disparate OpenShift/Kubernetes clusters  
  • Experience tuning OpenShift/Kubernetes clusters for low latency applications is preferred 
  • Proven success designing, implementing, and operating Linux systems at scale 
  • Deep understanding of Linux system internals
  • Financial trading industry experience and automation skills are preferred 
  • Cloud (Azure, AWS) experience is preferred
