 As part of the global Execution Trading and Operations team, the Associate will support all aspects of trading and operations, including but not limited to trade flow, reconciliation and break resolution, data warehouse and security master updates and maintenance, corporate action processing, onboarding, and much more. The Associate will coordinate across internal teams and external counterparties to ensure that operational processes are running effectively and efficiently. As the first Trading/Operations member in the new Singapore office, the Associate must be comfortable working independently while also remaining fully integrated as a team player with the entire global team. To help facilitate this, the Associate will cross-train in person with teammates in both London and NYC. The role requires speed, accuracy and skill in the face of complexity and is ideal for a candidate with strong organizational, follow-up and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working hours will typically be 7am through 6pm Singapore. Initial training will occur in person in NYC and London during those respective local US and UK hours. Training would be at least a few weeks in each city and likely back-to-back with training in NYC first and then training in London after.
  • Trading and Operations daily coverage includes:
    • All live trading coverage across equities, futures, FX, fixed income, and credit. Such items include monitoring orders, fills, rejects, limit breaches, compliance alerts, rolling futures, monitoring FX rolls, etc.
    • All live monitoring of positions and P&L across asset classes, and also maintaining and monitoring the firm’s centralized positions, prices and P&L in the data warehouse
    • Responding to all live PM and ad hoc requests across asset classes
    • Processing beginning of day (BOD) positions, corporate actions, security master changes, and data warehouse updates for EURO and AMER equities. Note: The associate will need to understand the same info for APAC equities in order to support live APAC trading, but the BOD related processes for APAC will continue to be covered out of NYC from 10am-2:30pm EST/EDT.
    • Reconciling and resolving breaks for all asset classes
    • Reconciling positions and P&L for all asset classes
    • Coordinating with fund administrator, prime brokers, counterparties, and vendors
    • Maintaining and improving highly automated processes to maximize operating efficiency
    • Coordinating global handovers amongst teammates across Singapore, London, and NYC
    • Providing proactive and ongoing cross training remotely so that London and NYC can provide backup coverage to Singapore
  • Project work may include:
    • Onboarding new strategies, markets, products, and PM teams
    • Creating data analytics and summaries typically using SQL
    • Coordinating documentation for counterparties, compliance, due diligence, etc.
    • Proposing, testing, and documenting new operational enhancements

Required Skills, Qualifications and Experience

  • 5-8+ years of hedge fund experience working with at least two of the following categories: equities, futures, fixed income, credit, and/or macro strategies
  • University degree or directly transferrable and applicable professional experience
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively
  • Ability to work efficiently and quickly
  • Ability to follow internal controls and policies
