WHAT YOU'LL DO

We are seeking a competent Compliance Officer to join the Singapore Compliance team of Optiver Singapore Trading Pte Ltd (“OSTP”), reporting to the Singapore Head of Compliance. OSTP is establishing as Optiver Group’s Asia Fixed Income products, Currencies and Commodities (“FICC”) trading hub in Singapore and seeking a Capital Markets Services licence from the MAS. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the business operates in accordance with regulations, laws and market requirements that apply to Optiver's business, and within Optiver's risk appetite.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Handle MAS registration of representatives and other representative-related obligations independently.
  • Manage queries arising from the onboarding of clients in relation to AML and Singapore Investor Classification.
  • Review, synthesise and communicate regulatory and industry updates that impact Optiver's business to various stakeholders.
  • Provide Compliance advice for adherence to local regulations, global internal minimum standards and risk appetite.
  • Develop and provide compliance trainings.
  • Undertake or support the relevant functions in regulatory reporting.
  • Challenge the effectiveness of our Compliance controls and contribute to their improvement.
  • Assist with the development, review and maintenance of Optiver's policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders on various compliance matters e.g. risk and control reviews, surveillance new business initiatives, incident management etc.

 

WHO YOU ARE

  • A bachelor’s degree in law, finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in Compliance, Audit or Regulatory function. Prior experience in a global/investment bank or with a financial regulator is preferred.
  • Broad knowledge of the regulatory requirements in relation to a capital markets licence holder for dealing in exchange traded derivative agreements and OTC derivative agreements.
  • Good understanding of FICC products and its risks and controls.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and ability to pick up new technology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
