The Role:
We’re looking to hire a Senior Engineering Manager to lead one of our teams of around 5-8 engineers. You’ll partner closely with a product/project manager, and report to our VP of Product Engineering.
Responsibilities
- Lead the team to deliver high-quality software in small iterations, continuously aiming to reduce cycle time and friction for your team.
- Have regular one-on-one meetings with engineers, set expectations and provide regular feedback
- Pro-actively coordinate with other EMs, Team/Tech Leads, PMs and other stakeholders to ensure strong cross team communication and delivery of new features
- Maintain a strong and up-to-date understanding of the architectural challenges and opportunities that your team is facing when building and deploying software. Minimal or no time would be spent coding, but you will be expected to maintain context, ask informative questions, and assist the team in making strategic trade-offs.
- Own the hiring process for your team from screening the candidates to organising the interview process and final evaluation/decision.
Requirements:
- Experience with Scala, AWS, MongoDB
- 3+ years of experience managing engineering teams.
- Excellent project management and communication skills
