The Team You’ll Work With

Carta Europe is simplifying access to Venture Capital by providing angel investors, startup founders, and fund managers the tools and infrastructure needed through our online admin platform. Whether you are creating a deal by deal syndicate, pooling angel investors into a SPV, or launching a Venture Capital fund - our platform helps clients set up and raise from investors in just a few clicks.

You’ll be joining the ​​Company Secretarial team as an Associate. The Company Secretarial team is responsible for ensuring that all products are methodically adhering to best-in-class corporate governance. The team is relatively new so you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping how we grow and develop within Carta. Day-to-day duties include preparation of legal templates, helping our clients navigate corporate legal tasks, supporting the formation teams with investment closings, as well as continuously improving our Company Secretarial processes and digital solutions. 

The Problems You’ll Solve

  • We are at the intersection of law, regulation, tax and finance: how do you deliver exceptional customer experience without the complexity or red tape that your competitors hide behind?
  • Turning professional services into products is challenging: how do you productize our intellectual property so that we can deliver the fastest solution with even higher quality outcomes?
  • We automate investment structures in Venture Capital: how can you scale processes so that each container is as seamless as possible to maintain?
  • We provide tech solutions for the company filings we manage on behalf of our clients. This role will be responsible for overseeing and executing these filings, working closely with our Fund and SPV clients to ensure timely and accurate submissions.

The Impact You’ll Have

You will have the opportunity to help us build out a product-first corporate governance framework, whilst working with the most talented venture capitalists, fund managers and dealmakers in the world. Your work will cement our large portfolio of wealth containers, and ensure continued good standing.

About You

  • Hold at least a Bachelor’s degree in Law (UK or international)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in corporate law, corporate governance, or corporate secretarial 
  • You have a product mindset and are keen to introduce digital innovations to corporate governance 
  • Exposure to private equity and/or venture capital is a bonus but not required
  • Client success sparks joy! You are proactive and resourceful in delivering positive outcomes every single day
  • High attention to detail: written and quantitative. You must be confident navigating your way around complex legal documents 
  • Strong prioritization skills and experience working in a fast paced, ambiguous environment. You can manage competing demands, while persevering to solve challenging problems
  • You are a polymath and are not afraid of working on different challenges at the same time
