**About the Role** Uber is looking for a Head of Courier Operations to lead its Courier Operations and Fleet Management teams for Germany. Our mission is to make Uber Delivery the preferred platform for restaurants, merchant stores, couriers and eaters across the +100 cities where we operate in Germany! This role requires a blend of leadership, strategic thinking, people management, cross-functional collaboration, and project management skills. You will be in charge of two teams, composed of Fleet Account Managers and Operations Managers. Your team's primary goal will be to drive courier supply growth across all our territories in Germany while ensuring reliable operations for our customers. Additionally, together with our Policy, Legal and Communications teams, you will anticipate and address regulatory changes that impact our delivery operations. This position will be reporting to the Head of Operations for Germany, located in Berlin. Set strategic direction, create team roadmaps, translate goals into OKRs, and foster accountability within the teams. - **Business Operations:** Forecast and plan courier supply needs, and oversee KPIs that measure the day-to-day performance of our delivery service. - **Cross-functional Stakeholder Management:** Coordinate efforts across cross-functional teams and various levels of seniority, including Finance, Legal, Public Policy, Communications, Territory Managers, and Community Operations, ensuring alignment and focus. - **Complex Project Management:** Initiate and drive projects that address strategic, yet ambiguous challenges, ensuring steady progress to deliver long-term business value. - **Champion Product Development:** Identify and communicate product needs to our Product & Engineering Teams based in San Francisco, New York, or Amsterdam. **What You'll Need** - Proven track record with 7–10 years of experience in startups, strategy consulting, operations management, or a related field, including at least 3 years of people management. - Strong business acumen and critical thinking skills, with the ability to use data to quickly identify top priorities and develop strategies to achieve them. - Experience leading teams, fostering a high-performance culture, and developing talent. - Expertise in solving complex problems through cross-functional collaboration, delegation, escalation, and data-driven insights. - Proven ability to work effectively with diverse cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, rapidly growing environment with tight deadlines. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and German. **Preferred Qualifications** - Experience in the logistics industry, online food delivery industry - Experience in owning budgets and managing your own P&L We welcome people from all backgrounds who seek the opportunity to help build a future where everyone and everything can move independently.
