Amazon is seeking a creative communications professional with specialist experience in sponsorship comms to join the International Stores Comms team (predominantly supporting across the UK and Europe). Although the candidate may have experience across multiple communications disciplines including marketing, social media, and influencer relations, we are looking for a senior team member who is skilled at building a results-driven sponsorship PR strategy from the ground up, working in close collaboration with our sponsorship marketing team.
This new role is a temporary 12-month contractor role which will be part of the Central Stores Programs team (which sits within the International Stores Comms team) and reports to the Insights and Planning comms lead on that team, with dotted line to Senior Campaigns Manager on International Workplace comms team and Senior Sponsorship Manager on Amazon’s cross channel marketing (XCM) team.
The candidate will be self-motivated and enjoy a dynamic, creative culture where the challenge of breaking new ground and redefining best practice is welcome. They will have a strong understanding of supporting brand sponsorships with a robust 360 PR campaign; a track record of delivering successful insights-driven PR strategies and campaigns; awareness of how PR plans integrate within the wider sponsorship marketing mix; experience of identifying and managing PR risk in order to protect brand reputation; and experience of delivering best-in-class measurement and evaluation of comms programming.
Key job responsibilities
• Evolving and developing a long-term insights-driven PR strategy to support Amazon’s sponsorship activity internationally (initial requirements will be focused on Europe)
• Ownership of 360 comms plan and allocation of budget – working with cross-comms partners, including Workplace and Operations, Corporate Comms, Internal Comms and Global Social Media Comms
• Working cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders - including Amazon’s internal cross channel marketing team, AWS, Retail and social impact and central agencies – in order to deliver complementary 360 comms campaigns relevant to all partnership opportunities
• Supporting local in-country comms teams to execute sponsorship PR activity as relevant and within local resource – helping local teams to prioritize and adapt plans and press materials as needed to suit local business priorities
• Drafting of all central press materials including press releases, blog posts, and spokesperson talk tracks
• Utilizing existing mechanisms and tools to track, measure, and report on sponsorship PR activity related to Amazon business goals through data analysis
• Where required, hosting media on-site at match experiences- Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, or a related field
