**About the Role** We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our Michelangelo ML Platform team (ML background is not required). The Michelangelo team works on building end-to-end ML systems and up-leveling ML quality at Uber. You will be part of a team of strong software and systems engineers, performing in a fast-paced environment. For more information on the Michelangelo Machine Learning Platform, see our select blog posts: [https://www.uber.com/en-NL/blog/from-predictive-to-generative-ai](https://www.uber.com/en-NL/blog/from-predictive-to-generative-ai) [https://www.uber.com/en-NL/blog/scaling-ai-ml-infrastructure-at-uber](https://www.uber.com/en-NL/blog/scaling-ai-ml-infrastructure-at-uber) ### **What the Candidate Will Need:** - **Extensive Systems Engineering Experience:** 7+ years of experience in systems software engineering, with a strong understanding of computer architecture and core computer science fundamentals. - **Programming Proficiency:** Expertise in one or more of the following programming languages: Java, Go, Python. - **Educational Background:** A Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. - **Project Leadership:** Proven track record of leading and successfully delivering complex projects. - **Problem-Solving Skills:** Strong problem-solving approach, with deep knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and complexity analysis. - **Adaptability:** Ability to work effectively in an ambiguous and constantly evolving environment. ### **Bonus Points:** - **Experience with ML Platforms:** Prior experience working on machine learning platforms or ML products. - **ML/AI/LLM Expertise:** Skills in machine learning, artificial intelligence, or large language models (LLMs). - **High-Load Distributed Systems:** Experience working on high-load distributed systems. - **Data Pipeline Experience:** Experience working on data pipelines using technologies like Spark or similar tech stacks.
