Position Summary:

Ampersand Biomedicines, Inc. is looking for a highly motivated, goal-driven and collaborative Research Associate to join our dynamic Protein Sciences team.  This is a unique opportunity to help drive the development of a rapidly growing early-stage science and technology company within a well-resourced environment.  The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in advancing our research and development efforts by applying their specialized knowledge in protein sciences.  The candidate will report to a highly experienced Scientist in the Protein Sciences department and will enjoy working in a pioneering and fast-paced start-up environment. This is a full-time on-site, laboratory-based position in Plzeň, Czech Republic.

Key Responsibilities:

• Molecular cloning of novel antigen constructs using diverse molecular biology and analytical techniques.
• Cultivation and manipulation of mammalian cells
• Execute lab scale mammalian antigen expression and purification using different chromatography techniques
• Implementation and documentation of dedicated experiments according to detailed protocols and standard operating procedures as well as contribution to general maintenance of laboratories and equipment

Key Qualifications:

• Biological/medical assistant or Ba or MSc in biology or related field.
• Hands-on experience with molecular cloning and/or working experience in mammalian cell culture and sterile technique is required.
• Experience in protein analytics, protein purification or other molecular biology techniques is a plus.
• Meticulous attention to detail, good organizational skills, and strength in problem-solving.
• Aptitude and enthusiasm towards learning new techniques, improving upon existing processes, and understanding the “why” behind experimental protocols.
• Sense of responsibility in regard to experimental work, the team and the mission of Ampersand
• Adaptivity to language requirements. Our team is international, written documents like experimental protocols and records are in English language

Compensation and grade will be adjusted to the experience level of the applicant.
