The Junior DevOps Engineer will be a critical part of our development and operations team, supporting the continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) of our applications. This role is designed for an entry-level candidate eager to learn and grow within the DevOps field. You will receive comprehensive training and mentorship and will work closely with senior engineers to develop your skills in various tools and platforms, including Jenkins, Artifactory, VMware, and Azure.

Key Responsibilities

1.    CI/CD Pipeline Management:

  • Assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot pipeline issues to ensure smooth and efficient builds and deployments.

2.    Artifact Management:

  • Help manage the software artifacts lifecycle using Artifactory.
  • Ensure proper versioning, storage, and retrieval of artifacts to support development and deployment processes.

3.     Infrastructure Management:

  • Learn to configure, manage, and maintain virtual machines and other infrastructure components using VMware.
  • Participate in the setup and maintenance of cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure.

4.     Automation and Scripting:

  • Develop and maintain automation scripts to streamline deployment and operational tasks.
  • Collaborate with the team to identify opportunities for automation and implement solutions.

5.     Monitoring and Logging:

  • Assist in setting up monitoring and logging tools to ensure the health and performance of applications and infrastructure.
  • Analyze logs and metrics to identify and resolve issues proactively.

6.     Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with development, QA, and operations teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Participate in regular team meetings, providing updates on tasks and progress.

7.     Learning and Development:

  • Engage in continuous learning to stay up-to-date with the latest DevOps practices and tools.
  • Attend training sessions, workshops, and other learning opportunities provided by the company.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Basic Understanding of DevOps Concepts:
    • Familiarity with the principles of DevOps, including CI/CD, automation, and infrastructure as code.
  • Technical Aptitude:
    • Basic knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
    • Understanding of version control systems, preferably Git.
  • Eagerness to Learn:
    • Strong willingness to learn new tools and technologies.
    • Ability to take direction and work effectively within a team environment.
  • Problem-Solving Skills:
    • Analytical thinking and the ability to troubleshoot and solve technical issues.
  • Communication Skills:
    • Good verbal and written communication skills.
    • English A2+
    • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.

Tools and Technologies

  • Jenkins:
    • Learn to use Jenkins for setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines.
  • Artifactory:
    • Understand the use of Artifactory for artifact management and version control.
  • VMware:
    • Gain experience in configuring and managing virtual machines and infrastructure using VMware.
  • Azure:
    • Acquire knowledge in deploying and managing applications and services on Microsoft Azure cloud platform.
