As a Bid / Proposal Manager at AWS, you lead our effort to deliver game-changing solutions to key AWS prospects and customers. You have the exciting opportunity to create strategies to build mindshare and broad use of Amazon’s utility computing web services (Amazon EC2, Amazon S3, Amazon RDS, etc.). Your responsibilities include working with all members of the AWS Commercial Sales team to develop winning, innovative proposals including written responses for RFIs/RFQs/RFPs (RFx).
The ideal candidate possesses demonstrated Enterprise-caliber proposal management and technical writing experience and leadership necessary to effectively support a high growth business. You should have a contracts background that enables you to easily interact with legal staff, as well as a technical background that enables you to easily interact with technical leaders, software developers, and solutions architects. You should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about the mission, product, and technical challenges, with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions in a written context.
AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.
Key job responsibilities
Key job responsibilities:
- Serve as a key member of the AWS Commercial Sales team leading bid / proposal responses to RFx opportunities.
- Execute the RFx proposal response plan while working with key internal stakeholders (e.g. sales teams, service teams, legal, support, security, finance, etc.).
- Develop win themes and technical discriminators, working with supporting AWS stakeholders specific to RFx opportunities.
- Validate RFP response requirements and ensure proposal compliance, and act as the primary interface for RFx response efforts.
- Build a library of approved proposal content for quick-turnaround opportunities.
- Understand and navigate Enterprise procurement processes and procedures.
This role will include:
1. Crafting compelling and persuasive proposals that effectively communicate the value proposition of AWS solutions to potential customers.
2. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, solutions architects, and subject matter experts, to gather and synthesize relevant information for proposal development.
3. Ensuring bid / proposals are tailored to the specific needs and requirements of each customer, while adhering to AWS branding and messaging guidelines.
4. Managing the bid / proposal development process from initiation to delivery, ensuring timely and high-quality submissions.
5. Continuously improving proposal content, templates, and processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
About the team
The OPCOE team crafts AWS customer proposals and documents in response to needs for Request for Information (RFI), Request for Proposal (RFP), Request for Tender (RFT) and Request for Quote (RFQ), collectively defined as RFx. Support is also provided for unsolicited proposals. We partner with Private Pricing, Cloud Intelligence, Cloud Economics, Analyst Relations and other Strategic Teams throughout a pursuit.
