We’re looking for a Senior ML Scientist to lead Snowflake's corporate machine learning function. In this role in the CIO/CDO org, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of ML scientists and engineers who work on developing and integrating cutting-edge AI technologies – primarily Snowflake techstack – to meet our corporate internal needs. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to design and develop innovative solutions that can boost productivity, save costs, and promote Snowflake use cases.

AS A SENIOR ML SCIENTIST AT SNOWFLAKE, YOU WILL:

• Design and develop AI-powered solutions that utilizes Snowflake's cloud data platform and Snowflake Cortex AI technologies to create value internally
• Collaborate with cloud engineering and business analyst/ management teams to ensure successful product development and launch
• Conduct research and competitive analysis to identify new opportunities in the field of Artificial Intelligence for internal use cases
• Work closely with different stakeholders to understand their needs and incorporate feedback into product design and features
• Measure and analyze AI development performance, using data to inform future key decisions and improvements

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• High levels of curiosity, eager enthusiasm & demonstrable experience working on open-ended problems
• Exceptional problem solving skills with the ability to think strategically
• Demonstrable experience and interest in problem formulation based on relatively abstract information 
• High levels of adaptability, to respond to fast-evolving project scope, adjusting strategies & plans accordingly; comfortable being scrappy
• 7+ years experience applying machine learning or statistical modeling on large datasets; pre-processing, data quality, feature engineering; the whole nine-yards
• Deep understanding of the basic classes of ML algorithms, statistics & linear algebra; with a keen interest in the underlying theory & assumptions
• Technical expertise in one or more of the following topics: Anomaly Detection, Clustering, Time-Series Analysis & Forecasting, Natural Language Processing (NLP), Uncertainty Quantification
• Experience building LLM based applications in a business environment; up to date with advancements in the Gen-AI space, in an applied sense, about foundational models & tools in the ecosystem (such as langchain etc)
• 7+ years experience writing production-quality, scalable code using Python. Expert software development lifecycle and best practices
• Deep experience & a point-of-view for developing end-to-end turn key ML solutions, enablement & adoption baked into the solution
• Expert level knowledge working with libraries such as scikit-learn, pandas, etc., SQL, Airflow, Cloud Services
• Domain knowledge and experience in the application of ML to one of Corporate Sales, Sales Engineering, Security & Econometrics, is a plus
• Required to adapt quickly to changing project scope while delivering value.  
• Ability to articulate results and complex concepts to all audiences. Ability to collaborate and influence leadership 
• Demonstrate keen senses of ownership, collaboration and mentorship
• Demonstrate leadership, with the ability to inspire the team & lead a project to completion
