In 2018, Bitvavo launched the first version of its digital assets trading platform, to bridge the gap between traditional currencies and digital assets. Our team, located in Amsterdam, is looking for self-driven, talented people who can help make digital assets available for everyone.

How will you make an impact?

As a Senior Systems Engineer in Bitvavo, you will play a critical role in the growth of our engineering team. Your primary focus will be on creating and optimising low latency systems for enabling trading at scale. You will set the technical direction for the team, ensuring the solutions we deliver are scalable, reliable, and secure. You will work closely with engineering and product managers to align business and technology goals and elevate our exchange platform to new heights. Your goal will be to continuously drive the tech stack forward by introducing new technologies, tools, and paradigms that improve our platform and achieve specific, measurable outcomes.

How will you be successful?

  • 10+ years of System Engineer / DevOps experience, with at least 5 in the trading industry with a focus on low latency systems
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively drive interactions with stakeholders and solve architectural challenges with a data driven approach
  • Expertise in cloud platforms with a strong focus on unconventional AWS setups for reduced latency and enhanced cloud networking
  • Experience with performance optimization: Linux/Linux kernel fine tuning, network optimization, latency reduction techniques in a cloud environment and In-depth understanding of networking and network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, multicast, etc.)
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment systems (Github, Ansible, etc … )

Nice to haves:

  • Experience with monitoring tools which are tailored for low latency and high-frequency trading environments (i.e. Corvil or similar solutions)
  • SecOps and GitOps experience is a big plus.
