AppLovin is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Manager, EMEA to join our People Operations team. This role will be responsible for overseeing and managing payroll operations for our Germany-based employees, ensuring compliance with local labor laws, tax regulations, and company policies. As the Payroll Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing, managing payroll tax filings, and supporting HR initiatives related to compensation and benefits.
Responsibilities:
Prior experience to thrive in a fast-paced, hyper-growth organization
Oversee the end-to-end payroll processing for all Germany-based employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of payments.
Ensure compliance with all applicable labor laws, tax regulations, and company policies.
Manage payroll tax filings, including income tax, social security, and other statutory deductions.
Partner with the People Team, Finance, and Legal teams to support compensation and benefits initiatives.
Maintain and update payroll records, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
Collaborate with external vendors and payroll providers to streamline payroll processes.
Handle employee inquiries regarding payroll, taxes, and deductions in a timely and professional manner.
Prepare and analyze payroll reports for internal stakeholders, including Finance, HR, and management.
Stay up-to-date on changes in payroll legislation and implement necessary adjustments to processes and policies.
Support internal and external audits related to payroll operations.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Payroll Manager, with specific expertise in managing German payroll and other EMEA countries.
In-depth knowledge of EMEA labor laws, tax regulations, and statutory deductions.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Experience with payroll software and HRIS systems.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Fluent in both German and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proven ability to manage relationships with external payroll vendors and service providers.
Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills
Exceptional Candidates Will Have:
Experience in managing payroll for multinational companies.
Familiarity with global payroll processes and compliance requirements.
Knowledge of compensation and benefits practices.
