Who You Are

The Associate Director,  Supply Chain–  Distributor Markets will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the supply chain operations within distributor markets outside of Europe. This role will ensure the efficient and effective distribution of our products, maintaining high standards of quality and compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain management and prior experience with distributors outside EU, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies for distributor markets to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products
  • Manage relationships with distributors, ensuring alignment with company goals and compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Monitor and analyze supply chain performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including manufacturing, quality assurance, and regulatory affairs, to ensure seamless operations
  • Lead initiatives to optimize inventory levels, reduce lead times, and improve overall supply chain efficiency
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop contingency plans to mitigate potential disruptions in the supply chain
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices, incorporating them into the company’s supply chain processes
  • Lead the design and implementation of supply chain processes required for an efficient and effective distributor markets supply chain
  • Take part in and support the identification and evaluation of potential distributors based on their capabilities, market reach, and alignment with company standards
  • Assist in negotiating and establishing contracts with selected distributors, ensuring terms and conditions meet supply chain requirements
  • Develop and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with distributors to ensure effective communication
  • Monitor distributor performance and compliance with contractual supply chain-related obligations  
  • Support and join Quality Assurance audits and assessments of distributor operations to ensure adherence to quality and regulatory standards and ensure standardization across distributor markets
  • Develop and implement Supply Chain launch readiness plans, including inventory build-up, distribution strategies, and contingency plans
  • Ensure that processes are implemented with 3PLs and CMOs in EU and US for handling and shipment to distributor markets
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and quality standards throughout the product launch process
  • Work closely with global planning and supply chain to align distribution and inventory strategies with launch schedules
  • Coordinate with commercial teams to understand market needs, forecast demand, and develop strategies to meet customer expectations
  • Facilitate regular cross-functional meetings to review supply chain performance, address challenges, and implement improvements
  • Ensure clear and effective communication across all teams to support seamless operations and timely product delivery
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure supply chain efficiency, effectiveness, and overall performance
  • Analyze supply chain data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supply chain processes and performance
  • Prepare and present regular performance reports to International and Global teams
  • Track and coordinate supply chain execution on an operational level to ensure timely delivery/availability of finished products

Education, Experience & Skills Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in supply chain management, preferably within the bio-pharmaceutical industry 
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and quality standards (GDP and GMP) in the bio-pharmaceutical sector
  • Proven experience with distributor markets, preferably outside Europe
  • Experience with working in a biotech start-up environment is an advantage 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and lead cross-functional teams at a senior level
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in supply chain management software and tools
  • This job might require regular travel within and outside the EU (up to 30%)
